I'm a fucking Twi-hard and I hate it. God damnit.

My eyes are burny today. Lately, I'm always hungry. It's too cold for moccasins but too warm for boots. What the hell.

Brooks' mother is listening to the Michael Buble Christmas album (that I bought her) and putting up one of two Christmas trees. Brooks is playing Assassins Creed 2. I am re-reading Eclipse before the movie comes out (212 days and counting... DOWN).

I miss the golden life of Toronto and college. I was thinking about applying for the visual merchandising program at Conestoga College. Then I realized that most of it is fashion-related and while I don't know much about fashion, I know even less about drawing well. Therefore, I'm destined to be at HMV for the rest of my life.

It's been too long... [Nov. 4th, 2009: :03:13 pm]
[music |amy millan - I will follow you into the dark]

That bug thing in my ear didn't end up being a bug thing at all! I don't know what it was, but I stopped using QTips, then started again, and now it's gone. This is awesome for two reasons: one being that it was the most annoying affliction (if you can call it that) that I have ever had. The second is I've stopped complaining about it, which is the most important point. You're welcome, world.

I'm still hunting down affordable housing in (the shit hole known as) Brantford. It seems nearly impossible and I'm getting really frustrated with everything. It would be ten times easier to do this if I had someone else to live with, but why would anyone wanna move out of their parents house, where they live rent free, to live in an apartment? I don't blame yous guys.

Anywho, Brooks and I were supposed to go to Toronto today, but unforeseen financial circumstances have made the trip undoable. Hopefully next week we get a chance... but I doubt it. I'd rather go before it gets so cold that I can't wear my moccasins anymore. Jeez I love those things...

New glasses soon. Possible new 'do as well, but that'll have to wait until I'm completely okay with the fact that more hair than I would like will need to be chopped off... then I will just cry myself to sleep every night for the rest of the year... my idea of fun, oh yes.

No Brantford dates? Ughhh [Oct. 12th, 2009: :06:40 pm]
Yummy food overdose! This year I got to spend Thanksgiving with the most groovy famjam on the face of the planet! Complete with a Disney Princess colouring session, the Rose family puts on quite the dinner! I'm thankful for the existence of everyone in my life and for Brooks and his family for taking me in and making me feel like one of the family!! Loveliest of lovelies they are!

Recently I've had this weird feeling in my ear. At first I just thought it was wax (ew) so I stopped shoving QTips in there, which you should never really do but I do because I'm a dummy. Anywho, it's been about two weeks now, and it sounds like there's water in there but there isn't. Every time I burp, talk, chew, swallow, yawn or bend down, my right ear crackles and it makes my eyes water. Also, if I grab the bottom bit of my ear and wiggle it up and down, whatever is in there makes the crackling noise. Also, if I stick something in there (say a finger) it makes the crackling noise. Roan, a guy at work, told me a story about how once he had an ant in his ear. Then Meg, a girl at work, told me about a cat she had that once had spider eggs laid in its ear. So, naturally, I'm really creeped out and have no idea what the hell it could be. Walk-in clinic I guess!

If anyone knows waddup with my ear, kindly let me know. And if there are insect eggs in there, then I love you all and wish you the best, 'cause I'm DOOOOOOOMED!

This is the story of the boys who loved you;
Who love you now and loved you then.
And some were sweet and some were cold and snuffed you
And some just layed around in bed.
And some, they crumbled you straight to your knees
Did it cruel, did it tenderly.
Some they crawled their way into your heart
To rend your ventricles apart.
This is the story of the boys who loved you.
This is the story of your red right ankle.

I'm goddamn sick again. Every time I get sick, it feels like I was just done being sick. The first day is always the worst: that pounding headache that never seems to fade; the drips of boogies from your nose; the immense body aches that seem like they'll never go away. That's where I'm at. Except this time, I took Motrin IB. Usually, I really hate putting stuff in my body that doesn't exist there naturally; but the pain was so overwhelming and I couldn't take it anymore. Brooks and I got to his parents house and I took two Motrin right away. An hour later and I'm feelin' fine, except that my head still feels like it's filled with concrete. But it's okay cause I'm laying in the bed of a boy who is super cute and kisses me even though I am sick!

After a year of working for HMV, I finally got full time. They gave me keys a few weeks ago, but now I'm making full time wages and get benefits after two months. This couldn't come at a better time because I sorely need glasses.

In addition to this, I'm thinking about going back to school next September. The University of Waterloo has a stellar program for Environmental Studies which I can then use to get into Environmental Sciences and get me a BaSc. I really just want to save the world. Recycling. Reusing. Conserving. I'm all over being a hippy.

Anywho, I'm hungry. I'm down for some chicken snack wraps. Peace.

NO YOU CAN'T NO YOU WON'T NO WE CAN'T NO WE WON'T. [Aug. 29th, 2009: :11:07 am]

Tokyo Police Club put on a good show. It's too bad that at this time of year, it's way too hot to be dancing at the Ford Plant. Meligrove Band t-shirt: five bones. No fights. No glares. A couple of stares. But no fights. Great job, Brantford, on growing up. Big Willy Style.

Slumber party at the Rose Rez ce soir. Should be a hum dinger.

Shaun's getting his first tattoo today. I'll be accompanying him to the shop to watch him sob. It's going to be fun.

Thanks to Seniorita Bogdan of the Welldot, I've found a tattoo artists to do my anchor. I'm still sketching on the Bobby Dylan portrait I want. I was thinking of putting him on the back burner in favour of the November '46 Vargas girl I want more than life itseld. I should probably take a trip to Southworks to get the original art. Brooks is getting a tattoo of Goku. My boyfriend owns every season of Dragonball Z on DVD as well as all of the tin-cased movies. Right on, nerd central. Someone who understands my sincere love for things like She-Ra and Sailor Moon.

We're gonna be Sailor Moon and Goku for Hallowe'en. And yes, Christmas is coming up fast. Jesus Christ.

GUH [Aug. 15th, 2009: :01:20 pm]
Something always goes wrong! Always! God damn it! This city is driving me insane! It's like high school, but city-wide! The only good thing to come out of this hell hole is the family I've gained, Brooks, and the Vermicious Knid. Fuck it!

Only You! [Aug. 6th, 2009: :11:41 pm]

Lately I've done a lot of thinking about tattoo's. Not a whole lot of doin', but thinkin'. It's been decided, and Brooks has drawn it, that I'll be getting that super cool anchor I mentioned before. I've also decided I'll be getting it on my left thigh.

Secondly, I would really like to get a Bob Dylan portrait done. This would, ideally, be on my right side, over my ribcage, conveniently covering the disgusting work of Brantford's own Kreative Kaos. Yeah, thanks for fucking up THAT one, guys. Bobby Dylan's hair would easily cover up the shoddy ink-job on my "2+2=5" tattoo. Though I love the idea, and the song and the band and all that jazz, it's just not as good as I wanted it.

Thirdly, I'm going to get my star fixed.. finally. It's been three years of not knowing, or caring, about that one. I'm beginning to realize I just don't have very good luck with tattoo's. I've decided, whole heartedly, to get it filled in with zebra print! I would've gone with cheetah or leopard or something to that effect, but it's so common. And zebra pattern is really freakin' cool.

And lastly, while Brooks and I were antiquing today (he comes willingly, before you defend him!) we found some old Vargas prints from the 1940's. For the longest time, I felt like I had no right whatsoever to even think about getting a pin-up tattoo. But when I saw this print, an original I might add, I immediately thought of it as a tattoo. It's the Vargas girl from November of the 1946 calendar.

Now here is my major dilemma: I'm picky. I want this art work done right the first time. So, what are some suggestions for parlours to get this work done? I'm specifically worried about the Vargas girl and the Dylan portrait. They will take the most work and precision, and I don't want to leave a tattoo shop with a long face over the shitty work I just got done. I'm really just looking for suggestions on really good artists and parlours as I know many of my avid readers have had work done or know someone who has that is super pleased with the end result.

Mm-...help..? Pleeease!!

The Sporting Life! [Aug. 4th, 2009: :12:25 pm]
[Tags|, , , ]

Last night, Brooks and I traveled to Toronto to see The Decemberists at the Kool Haus. Now, I'll be completely honest: I'm a Decemberists fan, but not in the same sense that I'm a Neil Young or Wilco fan. I don't know all the words to every Decemberists song; I don't really know the structure that well, granted, I don't listen to them that often. BUT, if we're being honest, I do believe that the Decemberists are revolutionary sound-shakers, not hit-makers, who are capable of phenomenal song writing and catchy refrains. Okay, possibly hit-makers if someone somewhere other than us Creemore Springs drinking indie kids would give 'em a chance.

I think the most impressive part of the night is the fact that they played their new album, The Hazards of Love, IN ITS ENTIRETY. From start to finish exactly how it is on the album. If you haven't heard that album, first off, go to your nearest record store and get it. Secondly, the entire album is basically one song: from the first chord to the last drum-beat, the album is one giant beautifully crafted piece of art.

So they played The Hazards of Love, start to finish, and left the stage..... ONLY TO RETURN TEN MINUTES LATER TO PLAY MORE SONGS! I don't know any other band who has or would play an entire album and then come back to play older songs, too! They didn't play "July, July!" but they did play "O! Valencia!" which made Brooks happy mostly because he has the O! Valencia! guns tattooed on his left arm. There used to be a photograph on the Decemberists website of his tattoo, but I guess they're revamping the site. Throw in "The Sporting Life," a rousing rendition of "Crazy on You" by (Canadian band) Heart, and topping the set off with "Sons & Daughters" complete with singer Colin Meloy conducting an audience sing-a-long with the refrain ("Hear all the bombs fade away"), the Decemberists honestly put on the best live show I've seen since Wilco in June 2007. EASILY a first place tie there, and that's only because Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy has most, if not all, of my heart.

If you ever get the chance to see the Decemberists, do it. You won't regret it. Oh! I also forgot to mention that Heartless Bastards opened up and I don't even need to explain how phenomenal of a band they are. I got a Heartless Bastards t-shirt and bought Brooks their latest album on vinyl. They're great: look 'em up. Seriously.

Brooks and I also made it to Port on Sunday. That was really good. I got to see a lot of people I REALLY wanted to see and people I don't normally see but wanted to say hello to! Orange creamsicle coolers, Kim Mitchell, obnoxious bastards that I love more than anything, and the love of my life by my side: I had by far the best weekend in my existence.

Also, Brooks and I are getting married.

Seriously.
